any one have any info on when holly fork gun range is going ti open ? went there today sept 1 st. sign said open saturday 8:00 am till dusk. well it was 1:00 pm and they were closed ??? there any place i can go to shoot my new .22 rifle? henry county gun club. can't afford to spend $120.00 a year to shoot once a month or so. the range at land between the lakes they said you need a reservation. darn i don't have long distance phone service. know of a spot i can legally shoot some? i live in paris.

Where is holly fork?

it's on RT 79 north east of paris, tn about 3-4 miles on the left hand side of the road as you are going towards paris landing. across the hiway from holly fork is a small convenient store think there like two gas pumps there. they have some bait to i think. i do not think they have a web site yet. last i know if it only has trap and skeet now think there building a pistol range next or might be done don't know. then rifle range and then sporting clays. i have no clue if there is a membership fee or day use fee. cant get a answer from any one. i was out there on a saturday first day of dove season what ever thet date was. there were houres posted on the gate that said they were open on saturday the day i was there at 1:00 pm gate was locked up. i think it said closed on mon. and tues. can't remember if open weds. or not think hours posted were 10.00 am till dusk. if i learn more i will post it. oh if going north on rt 79 and you see a school on the left hand side of 79 you just passed it. there is a very tall sign brown with white letters saying holly fork gun complex or gun range some thing like that . as big as that sign is i passed it up.

Cool, I hope it is a sucess. I visit the Paris area fairly often. Although I haven't got to come up very much this summer. I love it up there.

to me paris is ok i guess. only moved to paris 13-14 mo. ago lived in florida till i moved here. i lived in northern illinois all but 5-6 of my 61 years. i have not done any hunting yet. just got 2 guns as of late. sold all i had 4 yr ago. so starting over. i have a ruger 10-22 carbine.22 and a mosin nagant M44 7.62x54 cal.a WW2 Russian rifle. i have not shot it yet. just got it 2 weeks ago. i'm refinishing the stock now. the 7.62x54 is about the same as a 308 cal. it's a carbine was told it kicks pretty good.
the ruger 10-22 is for sale or trade if some one is looking for a vintage 1970 ruger.

well i drove out to holly fork gun range today. seems it has been open about 4 weeks now. skeet and trap only. talking to an employee there. they are thinking of closing the range down for the winter last of Oct..gees open for 2 months and closing give me a break. don't sound like there going to finish the pistol range till next year. they have the concrete pad poured but no berm, back stops yet. they haven't started the rifle range yet.
there closed mondays and tuesdays wed , thur, fri.sat. 10 am till dusk. sundays there open but not sure of the hours. i guess if you want to shoot a rifle or a hand gun. your out of luck. or go to henry county gun club. membership last i know of was $120.00 a year in one lump sum.
i'm trying to move to oklahoma the town where i want to move to has a cun club there $30.00 a year trap skeet, pistol, rifle range. i have never belonged to a club that charged more than $60.00 year.
