sometimes I miss Tennessee
The following events are a typical fishing day in Texas. Names have been changed to protect the innocent
Friday
• 9am - Stood in line at the courthouse for a trailer license plate for 1 hour, was sent away without a plate (it’s not their fault Tn doesn’t require a plate so I have nothing to transfer)
• 11am - Trolling motor won’t work had to go to the dealer and buy a part
• 2pm – Everything fixed on the road
• 5pm – Evidently a reservation does not actually reserve a room. Finally resolved with lower grade accommodations
• 6pm – boat in the water, fire it up, take off, steering is seized up
• 6:30 – push boat on trailer, begin drinking beer
• 8pm – hey I fixed the steering! back at the room after many beers
Saturday
• 9am – on the water. Too tired to get up early. Did I mention there is a 400 boat tournament going on?
• 1pm – Caught a couple (notice pic of monster from earlier post) trolling motor battery is dead, I’m ready for a nap anyway
• 5pm – back to the lake. Starting battery is dead, despite being on charger during nap
• 5:15 – push boat on trailer…again, begin drinking beer
Sunday
• 8am – screw it I’m going home. Should get there in time to see the race (of course they raced Sat nite this week)
• 10am – Trailer tire blow out on I10 doing 80mph near Winnie TX. Population 19.3
• Did I mention my wife joined me for the trip this weekend?
