I am planning a trip up to the lake for the period of 3/24 to 3/27. Will be fishing out of Paris Landing. This is my first trip up this year and was just wondering if anyone is catching any bass. I plan on crappie fishing but I would also like to do a little bass fishing. I will be fishing around the Eagle Creek/Big Sandy area. What do you think? Do you think it would be worth it to spend part of my time bass fishing? Also, what bait do you think would work best for this time of year.

Thanks

I definitely think it would be worth it that time of year. I'm probably not the best to ask, but spinnerbaits and shad colored crankbaits should work well for the largemouth in the shallow water. If they're slow to bite, try plastic worms, senkos and other plastics. Find some stakebeds or other cover, as it's hard to find good cover until they start raising the water.

It would probably be a good time for smallmouth also. I'm just not much of a smallmouth fisherman. Don't know what depth they would be holding in. If you can find out, then carolina rigged tubes and brush hogs should work.
