Does anyone have an opinion about leaving a bass boat in a marina ?? A marina without covered slips ?? Thinking about putting the boat at country junction for the summer. Appreciated feedback from anyone, especially if you have been there-done that.

I have not done that, and don't think I would. I would consider if I had a cover for the boat but not for a long period. Just my opinion.

Enjoy each day!

Have a cover and automatic bilge pump. I have a long drive and have to back in, plus the boat has to be pushed around to sit at an angle in my garage, it is a pain to shove it around and hook it up. Thought I might get out more often if I could just go tothe marina and take off.

Guys,

I assure you that if it is in the water, you will fish more often.

I have a lift in my slip at Leatherwood and an onboard charger. I keep my boat covered and charged at all times.

It is almost too easy to go - my big challenge is just getting to the lake as often as I would like - but when I do, I can be in the water fishing in 5 - 10 minutes.

Good Fishing!

Leatherwood is a little far for me. Country Junction is only 9 miles. I have been told that bass boats do not do well when left in the water but if I don't use it-it is a very expensive lawn ornament! Guess if it doesn't work out I can trade it for a pontoon boat-they seem to do okay in the marina. Thanks for the input.

CJ,

If your gonna leave it at the Marina, why hassle with it at home to put it in your garage? It could sit outside, right?

I keep mine in the water all summer..Lake Michigan...Indiana. Just keep your batteries charged and bilge pump on and a good cover...I pull it out twice a year to wash the alge off, we get a lot up here.
Anybody close to the marina to keep a eye on the boat for you...

I gurantee you, you'll fish more..

How far is Marina from home?

Good luck in the decision you make..

Guess I should explain--My husband (CJ) recently passed away. I am about 5 ft 1" if I stand real straight and have a little trouble moving the darn thing around to hook it up. I can run the boat ok but maintaining it is a different matter. I have decided to sell it so if you know anyone looking let me know. It is 2001 War Eagle 754/Screaming Eagle aluminum bass boat. 6ft beam & 54" bottom. 75 Horse Mercury 2 stroke, 3 cyl, fuel injected. Motor Guide trolling motor. 2 depth/fish finders. has live well in back, bait well up front. Trailer also.

It will flat out fly! & float in 6 inches of water.
