Got a couple of reports today. One guy was catching some very nice sized females in 18-20 feet of water and another was catching fish in 10-15 feet of water.

Anything happening shallow in the last couple of days?

I would like to know that also fishman. I am hoping to get up there some time this next week for a day or two. The wind has been so bad here, I guess it is there also.

Enjoy each day!

I was down there this past week 4/10 to 4/14. We caught some nice fish, but were really scattered? We ended up with 15 or so good fish at the end of each day but had to cover alot of water. Should I have been more patient and waited out for the bite when marking suspended fish? I would like to come back down this wednesday for a few days. Could someone leave word if lake is rising,dropping fast, spawned out or any info? It is a 7 hour drive so I need a game plan.
Thanks,
Losthoosier

You can check lake levels here;

Sounds like you did as well as most of us, I fished West and Big Sandy and when I found the fish I had to stay right on top of them and be patient. Also had a bunch of 9" and under fish. Another thing was that most of the fish were black crappie, more true in West Sandy than Big Sandy. The majority were females with eggs that were ready to go. Get yourself a Kentucky HydroGrafix map if you want to narrow your search for those deepwater fish.

Way to go losthoosier, I live in Indiana but I've been at Britton Ford for a month, just came home to take care of mom for a few days, she lives in Ohio. Good Luck.

I was down last Friday and Saturday. It was pretty slow but like you all say the fish were in about 7-10 ft of water. It was hard with the wind Fri but Sat was pretty good. We caught a lot of fish long lining but almost all were small with about 20 keepers.

Just wondering when you all think bigger fish will be in shallow water. I feel like Ive already missed the spawn, but i dont know. Maybe im just not holding my mouth right. Hopefully the best is still yet to come. Roll Eyes

Thanks, again this is a great website and very helpful.

Got another report and they were catching them in 10-18 feet of water on Saturday. That's about all I know. Will be out there for the next couple of days. Hope the wind lays.

Oh yeah. Thanks for the comment on the site and board EC. I'm not the most knowledgeable fisherman. Luckily some of the folks on here are.
