Hey guys,

Two weeks ago I fished the West Sandy area pretty hard and picked up 10 decent keepers. As I was taking out, I talked to another guy who had a nice mess that he caught at "the ledges". My pride prevented me from asking exactly where they were. I'd heard about them all my life. I'm certainly willing to swallow my pride online. Can anyone tell me what area "the ledges" are in and how to go about finding them?

Thanks,

Thanks... I was pretty sure that's where he was referring to, but I wanted to know for certain. The big water on the main lake can be a little intimidating if you're not sure you're in the right vicinity.

Thanks again,

Fishman,
Thanks for the help getting me hooked up with the chat board. My question is...when people talk about the main river channel, are they refering to the Big Sandy or Tennessee River? The lakes I have to fish up here in IN only have one creek channel and the bays are no comparison with the bays down there. So when I read "mouth of bays" or "main lake" I am a little confused? Any info would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
losthoosier

welcome losthoosier...that would all depend on the body of water...if your on the river the main channel is the old main river bed...in the sandy it would be the original big sandy river bed...most bays here have a creek, river,or drainage cut...where these places intersect with the main(original)river is called the mouth...these places make great spots because it is the travel routes the fish are "programed" to use...

hello all,
what a beautiful day friday was! i spent the whole day in 10 to 12 foot water to finish with 23 keepers. only 3 required the ruler all others were nice. also had a number of 4 to 5 inchers. chartreuse was the most consistant color, but minnows were good also.
