Firedog,

You using darker bait or minnows? Sounds like 8 ' they are getting closer to the spawn...

Darker water usually calls for dark colored baits? HA, really depends on one's personal choice, or just plain ..what they are biting on...

Using minnows.I always use minnows,i guess because im afraid of figuring out what color to use.I do need to learn em,also I've spent a fortune on minnows this month. Is a color selector a waist of money, the one for about $89.?

I think this will be a good week for fishing, but i cant get back up there till Fri. after school lets out.About 2weeks ago caught em in 15ft.This week 8ft.Water temp where i was saturday afternoon was 55. This is only my 3rd year to crappie fish,Ive read and also heard the fish at KY lake will spawn in the 8ft even in 16ft water. That doesnt make any sense.

No expert , but water clarity will have alot to do on spawn depth. Last year the lake seemed to me pretty clear. I was catching males and females on 8 to 10 foot when water was 64 degrees. From what little time I have been on water this year and hearing reports...the spawn will happen much shallower (muddy water) unless they pull the plug on the lake at spawning temperatures? L.H.

Does anyone fish Swamp Creek,or out by the power lines in the Mansard Island area? I wondered how they're hittin' in those spots?
