Will be coming down to Mansard Island this week end. Fishing from the 5th till the 12th. Any tips will be appriciated. Bringing my 81 yr old dad and would like to show him a good time!

man it all depends on the water level..right now its 7 feet above normal..but they are starting to let some out..if your here from the 5th-12th i am gonna say you will get caught in an almost steady but slow draw down..those conditions make it sort of tough..but for me the ledges from the powerlines to the mouth of the big sandy seem to congregate alot of good fish in draw down conditions..i kinda figure they will pull it down to about 357 by april 15th and let it stabilize..then start the summer fill..never know though..but it all depends on the water..and the rain..ask again as time gets closer..should get some better tips then.

Hey, we will be down at Mansard this weekend also. I usually try out towards Big Sandy and find whatever depth they are at. Purple and Chartruse, ORANGE and chartruse, and my favorite light blue and white. Hopefully my HydroGraphs maps will be n mailbox tommorrow!! We got a few spots, but nothin like the locals.

Yep, 364.2 this morning, predicted 366.3 4/7.

Came down from illinois for the 2nd straight year on Sat. April 5th and caught forty crappie ranging from 1 lb to a monster 2.5 lb fish all nice fish. We were pulling road runners between briton ford and the gravel pit.
