Got to fish Wedhesday afternoon and thursday morning with my son(10yr.old).We Fished a big flat in 16ft. water,fishing close to the bottom.Had 31 keepers Wed. and 29 Thurs.When i cleaned them It seemed like half of them were females full of eggs.This is my 3rd year crappie fishing plus alot of reading.Is this the way the fish are this time of year.Water temp was 48deg. both days.

Nice to hear someone has learned how to find/catch crappie during this time. Were you spider rigging firedog?

I was spider rigging with minnows.If i got into deeper water,wouldnt do any good.I would go back to the 16ft. water and start catchin em again.

Haven't had any success in the last two trips.
Thanks for the info...may be going to Blood on Sunday...will try depth/technique there.
