papacrappie Is the "spillway" the creek you go over when you come in to the town of Big Sandy? I am not familiar with that area. Is it bank fishing only? Thought it would be a good place to take my boy on windy days when we come down? L.H.
LH..yep..thats it..you can bank fish..if you can find a spot..or go down past the spillway and turn left to the little boat ramp..its covered up right now

Hey Guys, just wanted to say that a few crappie are starting to come in shallow. I caught 5 yesterday in about 4 feet of water. 5 is not many, but hey, it counts. Wish the weather would coroperate!! Been catching alot of bluegill on my jig. Whats up with that?? Crappie fishin and most of my catch is bluegill. At least I'm catching something, right? Maybe before long cpappie fishin will be in full swing. I've got the FISHING fever!! Look foward to hearing more fishin stories.
Haven't been out since week of March 10. I slip at country junction and can't even get to the marina. Water is over what used to be the road. Can't believe I'm wishing for the water to go down. Usually wishing it up. You're right Fishing fever is here big time.

Hey PappaCrappie, Comming from Danville across the ferry how do you get to the spillway? Say there is ledges to fish there? Fishing across the river is messed up because of lowering water I guess. Fished all day yesterday and caught 2 keepers. Thanks
CS..the spillway is pretty much bank fishing only..there is a ramp down a ways to put in a boat..but i never put in there or fished the area in a boat..in the above post i kinda wandered from the spillway to the main lake..sorry i wasnt clearer..gettin old i reckon.

Hey CS, come from Danville to Big Sandy and stay on 69, you'll see the "parking lot" just out of Big Sandy. Like PC, I never fish there, only once, I'd rather be in my boat.
CJ, I also have a slip at country junction,Ive also been puttin in at another place.I'll be there sat. morning ,I was wondering if the water is still over ramp.
Hey Firedog Friend has a camper at country junction, he was over there Wed and said the water was well over the road by the marina. The bench down by the dock was not visable. Guess I'll drive by and ck it this weekend. I was hoping to have the 'toon in the slip this weekend but guess it will have to wait.

Fished Sunday to Wed. Did not catch very many......But the guy camping next to me had 90 Keepers every morning! (I seen them) He was trolling jigs on South of Coun;try Junction. When we talked to him Wed he said the bite was off. He had 15 or so. Said the water was just to low. I am heading back down in a few hours. Hope all the rain brings it back up and bite will be back. Gotta pack.luck L.H.
LOT'S OF PLACES FOR FISH TO BE. CAUGHT 22 TODAY IN THE GRAVEL PITT TODAY. WATER IS MUDDY, BUT THE FUTHER NORTH YOU GO THE CLEARER IT IS. THE BEST DAYS ARE AHEAD. WATCH OUT FOR OLE NO SHOULDERS.

not exactly sure how to get to the gravel pitt by road but judging by boat ride time it is probably 1 to 1 1/2 miles southwest of britton ford mabye someone who knows the area better on here can help more than me, PS the fishing on saturday was better in the clear water north in about 12 to 20 feet of water
